In the early 1980's my father was one of the largest second hand clothing brokers in the USA. As a teen I traveled with him all over the USA as often as I could watching and learning how he bought and sold this clothing, it excited me. I was amazed at how much used clothing there was in this country and evan more amazed watching the factories we sold process the clothing and pack for re-sale in developing countries all over the world. This is when I realized that by recycling clothing and shoes making it available to low income families
in the U.S. and around the globe and how it impacted there lives positively reducing there stress by offering Quality American Fashion at a fraction of its original price stretching there dollar so that they could provide a roof over there heads and better feed there families brought great pleasure to me. At the age of twenty I ventured away from my father since I knew more than him so I thought and opened a recycling facility in Miami, It was complicated at first but I had a desire to succeed. Working 15 hours a day six to seven days a week, I just knew one day it would pay off. For the next ten years I traveled around the world to develop my markets, it was grueling I wanted to quit and work for someone else. But I didn't, In the mid ninety's I stumbled across a wholesaler who bought and sold department store clearance and customer returned shoes. He had a warehouse full of old shoes that he had accumulated over the years that he couldn't sell in his stores so I negotiated a deal with him to purchase all of these shoes, seventeen trailer loads in all. This was the beginning of a new path for my company. I started researching retailers and found that they were either destroying or selling off there excess inventories. I negotiated deals with them to purchase there clothing and shoe inventories. I invested nearly all my money over a million dollars in buying these stocks before I realized my customers did not want to buy this merchandise because it was to expensive. I almost went bankrupt. But I could not let that happen so I got back on the planes and started traveling the world again. Once again I was successful. I found and developed new markets. Today I have customers in 47 countries worldwide. I own my warehouse of 140,000 sq. ft. in Miami, Florida where we process clothing, shoes, and general merchandise new and used. I have a wife and two boys. Without them I don't think I would of struggled as hard to succeed in an industry so difficult. Meanwhile my motivations now is to help conserve natural resources and protect our environment as a part of a simple living plan and continue to help the poor of the world doing my part as a Humanitarian.
We are spoiled in the United States and most Americans don't realize how good we have it until you have visited a third world country. We should give great thanks to our ancestors whom migrated to this country and made us a super power and that every generation passes makes our nation even greater, we should all stand proud for that.
